Course
The Advanced Backcountry Course expands your tailwheel experience into the realm of true off-airport adventure. Over 2.5 days, you’ll complete approximately 20 hours of 1:1 instruction with your dedicated instructor split between ground lessons, tailwheel simulator and 5-6 flights in the PA-18 SuperCub. Conducted entirely one-on-one, with an airplane dedicated to your use, this program equips you to manage challenging terrain while refining advanced tailwheel techniques. By course end, you’ll have the confidence and capability to explore remote strips and wild landscapes with skill and control.
Gateway to Expeditions
The TacAero Advanced Backcountry Course is more than a training program. It is your gateway to the TacAero expedition community. Every expedition participant completes the course, creating a common foundation of backcountry flying knowledge, decision making, and aircraft handling skills.
The course is designed to build confidence and proficiency in real world backcountry operations while connecting pilots with fellow aviators who share a passion for adventure flying.
