• We don’t. Pilots must arrive with a current PPL and BFR. Our focus is to provide outstanding advanced instruction. To complete these courses, pilots must arrive ready to learn and proficient in the basics.

  • TacAero operates a fleet of modern tailwheel aircraft, including Super Cubs, Top Cubs, Carbon Cubs, XCubs, Waco UPF-7 and the Gamebird GB1. Specific aircraft used will depend on the course and your training goals.

  • Rather than charging by the hour, TacAero offers flat-rate course fees that include a set amount of classroom instruction, briefings, and flight time. For detailed pricing, please contact us directly.

  • Deposits are required to secure your spot and are non-refundable. However, we understand that plans can change, and we offer rescheduling at no additional cost, subject to certain terms and conditions.

  • Whilst we don’t accept VA benefits we do offer a 10% discount to all active and retired military.

  • Absolutely. If poor weather is expected to impact the majority of your scheduled training, we’re happy to reschedule at no additional cost prior to commencement of training. Your instructor will reach out the week prior to discuss the forecast and available options.

  • We recommend arriving the day before your training begins to give yourself time to settle in and get a good night’s rest. On your final day, training usually wraps up by early afternoon, so evening departures are generally suitable.

  • We’re conveniently located near two major airports.

    1. San Antonio International (SAT) – Our top recommendation. It offers a wide range of carriers and is just about an hour’s drive from Fredericksburg.

    2. Austin-Bergstrom International (AUS) – Also a great option, located roughly 1.5 hours away by car.
